Dear Parents/Guardians,

The 5th and 6th grade students of West Amwell and Lambertville Public School will be participating in the American Heart Association Hoops for Heart Program this year. In Physical Education class we have been working on improving our cardiovascular fitness through jumping rope and various cardiovascular activities.  Along with improving our cardiovascular fitness, we talk about the importance of being physically active and making healthy food choices. The American Heart Association also stresses the importance of these areas as well as raising money for lifesaving research. Students from both schools will compete in an optional 3v3 March Madness style tournaments which will take place at LPS on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 3:30-5:00.

Each student has been given a collection envelope. Donations can be collected in person or online. All information is provided on the collection envelope.  Families will be given the opportunity to raise money (optional) that will help fund lifesaving research and educational programs. We also receive money each year to help with our Physical Education budgets as a result of how much we raise! We are making it easier by having an online giving option. Information on how to sign up will be attached below. In an effort to go paperless the online option will help minimize any cash that could be lost in transport from home to school. Our school’s partnerships with the American Heart Association is helping to build healthier lives free from heart diseases. Please return envelopes by March 1, 2019.

We would like to invite all parents/guardians to come and watch your child/children during the Hoops For Heart March Madness event. Feel free to contact us with questions.
